Event Roundup: Partner Africa Responsible Business Roundtable

On Friday, 10 February Partner Africa hosted an interactive Roundtable event on Responsible Business Practices in Nairobi, Kenya for its clients and other suppliers working with small holders in Kenya.

The event focussed on reviewing existing small holder standards and beginning the process of consulting on and co-creating an assessment process that was based on the voices and experiences of smallholders and African suppliers.

We were pleased to host 30 participants who were incredibly engaged in discussing the importance of people in the global South contributing to the Standards that govern best practices for small holders. In analysing the different Standards applicable to small holders, it became clear that we have a responsibility and an opportunity to consolidate and enable the convergence of existing standards to ensure that they are inclusive.

Our Executive Director, Sara Clancy, shared that she was truly inspired by the knowledge of all those who had attended:

"The knowledge of the various people in the room blew me away. People were generous with their time and willingness to co-create the beginning of a new small holder standard that will be relevant to everyone.” - Sara Clancy

We are also happy to report that feedback from the event was overwhelmingly positive, with many participants requesting further roundtable events to expand their knowledge.
