The Inua Dada initiative addresses gender disparity in Kenya’s flower industry, where assessment revealed 80% of roles above general worker level were held by men. This two-year programme (2022-2023) is a partnership between Flamingo Horticulture and Co-op, operating across integrated operations and independent suppliers in Naivasha. It delivers artisanal skills development, health education, financial literacy training, and leadership programmes, whilst addressing participation barriers through practical support including sanitary product provision. The initiative’s Leadership Hubs ensure sustainable peer support, translating skills development into economic empowerment for women in workplace and community contexts.
This report details the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) study that Partner Africa conducted to establish the impact of the Inua Dada programme against the project KPI’s.
